The Changing of the Chalkboard

It's official. Christmas is over.

The tree came down yesterday, which wasn't really as big a job as it used to be, probably because I don't put as many ornaments on as I once did. I've left up the greenery and twinkle lights to help me through the dark days of winter. They will probably come down some time before Valentine's Day. For now, I'm calling it mid-winter decor.

This was the chalkboard art for the month of December. Simple.

Now that we are in the season of Epiphany, I decided to change the chalkboard message.

I read this verse yesterday, and it has been with me ever since. It is the chapter where the prophet Micah talks about the ruler from ancient days who will come from little Bethlehem.

"And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth. And he shall be their peace."  Micah 5:4-5

After the hectic season of the holidays, I need that peace. After reading the news, I need that peace. After looking at my calendar, I need that peace...the peace that comes from knowing I am a little lamb in the flock of the Good Shepherd.

Peace to you, cafe friends!
