Do you remember all the lavender I harvested last month? I had it drying in a bowl on my hutch, and decided it was time to do something with it.
To begin, I had to strip all the little lavender buds off their stems and into a bowl. It smelled amazing!
I used a few light colored fabrics along with the muslin, too.
I made a pattern for the tea bags using a scrap of card stock. I used this guide to cut out the front and back sides of the tea bags. Isn't this fabric adorable? I found it last year as a bundle of Fat Quarters at Tuesday Morning (before they closed...wah!) for $2. I didn't know what I'd do with it at the time. I just knew that the colors and patterns spoke to me. 😊
I sewed three sides, attaching the other length of ribbon at the top and leaving the bottom open to fill with dried lavender. After a few spoonfuls, I sewed the bottom shut.
This is not a professional sewing job, and it's not meant to be. This is just a cute little "vintage inspired" sachet that will make a fun gift to give to some of the ladies in my life.
Wouldn't this be cute to coordinate with a matching card, too? I may have to work on that later today!
Blessings, cafe friends!
Such sweet sachets!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cute idea! I need to make some - and I have that tea stamp too! I had bought fat quarters too, a while back, and have used some for face masks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
