2020.
It's been a year, hasn't it?
We say that someone has 20/20 vision when their eyesight is perfect. But nobody could see what 2020 had in store for us.
Pandemics and politics. Face masks and furloughs. Hoarding and toilet paper shortages. Stay in Place and social distancing. Riots in the cities. Looting in the streets. Schools closed and kids parked in front of computer screens.
Like I said, it's been a year.
This sign appeared at the corner of the street on our way to church about six weeks ago, and I just love it.
Yes, more Jesus in 2020!
If ever there was a year when I needed more Word in my daily life, this is it. I decided to read through the entire bible this year. That would've been a great plan if I started in January, too. But instead, the Spirit moved me in September. I began with the New Testament, starting with Luke, then Acts, then the letters of Paul. And then John, 1,2,3 John and Revelation. Then Mark and 1 and 2 Peter. Then Matthew, Hebrews, James, and Jude. And now I am in the Old Testament, reading through the Torah.
I have a lot of reading to do if I want to finish by New Years!
This is my newish bible that I bought just a year or two back. I had not marked it up yet, so I decided that this reading would be the perfect opportunity to put that Sharpie to use.
Philippians. Learning to be content no matter the circumstances. Now THAT is a good word for 2020.
Here is another good word. Hope! I paired the Shade Tree die with Shade Tree Scripture verses from Taylored Expressions, and layered these two over some Distress Ink blended backgrounds.
Hold on to hope, cafe friends! For He who promised is faithful!
That is ALWAYS a good sign to have in one's yard. I read Psalm 37 this morning and it was helpful. I find myself getting angry and worried.....and for naught. He is in control, I am not, and we are all sinners! Lovely card too! TFS!
