Handmade Holidays

 

I love to make handmade gifts for the holidays! This month, I have been having a flashback to my childhood by weaving pot holders. Did you ever make pot holders on a loom as a child? It was so much fun, right? Well, Harrisville Designs is a lovely company in New Hampshire that offers all sorts of cool products, including this high quality loom kit and all cotton loops.

It comes with instructions and various patterns. You can also order loops in various color families or all one color if you like.

I went to the Dollar Store this week and bought a bunch of cute silicone spatulas. I tied together the spatula and pot holder, along with a favorite bread recipe I discovered this year. 

I plan on giving these to friends and family, with a card that says "We didn't get to break bread together this year, but hoping we will have the chance in 2021!"

Just a fun, inexpensive gift to let loved ones know we are thinking of them this Christmas.

FYI, shipping times are slower this year, for many reasons. The biggest reason seems to be that folks are avoiding in-person shopping and doing the majority of their shopping online. That makes sense. USPS, UPS and FedEx are slammed. Let's all be patient and kind this season. It's been a tough year for everyone.
