Tutorial: How to Make a Snowy Window Card

Good morning! Welcome to the café!

Today I am going to show you how to create a window card. It's really very easy. These were popular when I first began stamping (around 20 years ago? Yikes!), and they even sold premade cards with windows for this purpose. Now, you can make your own window card with just a few dies. Simple!

Your window can be any shape you choose. I decided to go with a square to complement the square stamp that is highlighted. First, you need to determine what size you want your window to be. I started with the larger square, but eventually decided to go one size smaller.

Place the die exactly where you want the window to be, getting it as even as possible and then securing with some purple tape. Run this through your die cut machine, and voila.

Like I said, this window seemed a bit bigger than I needed for the image, so I went down a size.

Here, you can see that the stamped image is just a little bigger than the window, which is what you want. I layered a snowflake in one corner of the window front, and the tree line border at the bottom of the window front, as you can see here.

A fun card that just adds a little something extra!

I hope you enjoyed this "blast from the past" tutorial!

Blessings on your Saturday, café friends!

  1. You've been very creative with your Woodware stamps. It's nice to see a line of stamps different from the mainstream.
