Two Ornaments for My Sons

A few days before Christmas, I decided to stitch another ornament for my son, John. I had already finished one ornament, so I thought "Hey, why not start another?"

As our British friends say, "In for a penny, in for a pound."

I found this Pikachu pattern on Pinterest, and just added the Santa hat myself. I used DMC for the pattern, but stitched the white Santa hat trim using Weeks Icicle floss.

I had to purchase a 4 in hoop, as the hoops I had were not big enough.

To finish, I cut a circle of patterned paper, glued it to the back of the hoop frame, and then attached some stitched grosgrain ribbon.

And here is the finished Baby Grogu (from Star Wars The Mandalorian) using the same technique above.

For this Santa hat trim, I used Wichelt fuzzy floss to give it a furry look.

I know Luke loved the ornament because he instantly grabbed his phone, took a photo, and sent it to his friends on Christmas morning. 😊

John's Pikachu was still being stitched on Christmas morning. It will have to be mailed to Indiana now, but I think I will mail it from Ohio and not Michigan. The Detroit sorting facility has been so backed up that it made national news! A Priority package I sent on December 7th arrived at its destination on December 28th. Sigh! So much for getting Christmas presents out early!

I decided to grab my Lori Holt Stitch Cards and start working on the winter squares. The first one? Snowman! I will show that one later this week.

Snow came overnight and covered everything in a thin layer of white. So pretty!

Happy Winter Days, café friends!
