It's been a good week to stay indoors, bake cookies, and stitch while cuddled under a blanket.
We got over a foot of snow, and this morning it is negative 11 outside, before wind chill. Brrr!
This project is much bigger than I am used to working on. I think the finished size is 9 x 9. I am at the point where I have to fold and pin some of the Aida back just to be able to better handle the section I am stitching. It's a little unhandy, but I can see the end in sight!
I found this interesting infographic recently that shows fruit and vegetable production in the state of Michigan. We often think of the south as the place where our produce comes from, specifically because it is warm. But many northern states are bigger suppliers of certain fruits and vegetables. I think fruit trees need the cold weather to activate their flowering.
Cold weather? We have plenty of that right now! Michigan ranks number 10 in produce production for the entire U.S.
Blueberries, cherries, apples, peaches, strawberries and grapes. Onions, carrots, soybeans, asparagus.
So many good foods for heart health!
My Farm Girl has some sweet cherries to pick this spring!
Think warm thoughts, café friends!
Lovely project and interesting information on Michigan. I just thought of Michigan for the blueberries and apples, but it’s much more than that!
