Mountain Day

 

My calendar says that it is Mountain Day in Japan. I don't know how they celebrate mountains there. Do you? 

It seemed like a good day to highlight some mountain cards!

When I was a kid, I was fascinated with mountains...probably from watching the Sound of Music so many times! Oh, how I longed to see mountains! But that was not any every day sighting in the flattened out land of Michigan.

I used to tell my kids "If you think you are seeing a mountain on the Michigan landscape, it is probably, in reality, a landfill." 😁

I have visited and seen a few mountains. I've flown over the Rockies, driven through the Smokies, and even hiked in some of the mountains in the desert landscape of Arizona.

Technically, we lived in the rolling foothills of the Appalachians when we lived in Pennsylvania. And it was beautiful. 

I really liked these mountain stamps from Catherine Pooler. This set has great sentiments, too!
