The Fellowship of the Coffee

We are having an ongoing ministry fair at church to highlight the many things our congregation is currently involved in, and to let people know ways that they can become more connected, too.

I was asked to make a table for Fellowship, which is where I currently serve. And of course, you cannot have fellowship without coffee. 😁 I think my booth came out pretty cute, don't you?

In an effort to encourage Sunday morning socialization, I committed myself and my guys to serving during our Fellowship hour for the entire summer. I call it volunteering. My husband says he was voluntold. 😂 We make the coffees, fire up the Keurigs, put out the juice and water, and make sure there are plenty of snack options available. Muffins, cookies, donuts, coffee cakes, fresh fruit. Last week, one of our sweet congregation members had Dutch Kringles that she'd ordered from a bakery in Racine, Wisconsin that were AH-mazing.

The good news? What started out as ten to twelve people meeting outside in the pavilion has steadily grown every Sunday. We now have moved back indoors, and I'd say we have closer to 30-50 who pop down to see friends and grab a cuppa.

Coffee and love warm the soul.

Here's a card for just such a feeling!

Thanks for visiting the café today!

  1. What great ideas, and you're the perfect person to be in charge of Fellowship. I love "voluntold"!
