Anniversary Card (and a tutorial on reverse stamp stamping)

Good morning, café friends!

Today, my husband and I are celebrating 32 years of marriage!  The weather looks very similar to the day we were married, too. A little overcast, a little drizzly. They say it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day.

I wanted to make my husband a fun card that harkens back to our youth, when I worked in a record store and he was recording mix tapes for all of his friends.

Have you tried reverse stamp stamping yet? Let me show you how it works!

First you place your stamp on the block or MISTI as always, and then stamp image in black.

Next, you clean the stamp and dry it thoroughly, then flip it upside down so the smooth side is laying on top of the black stamped image.

When you have it where you want it, then you apply ink to that smooth side! I did three stripes of color here.

And then, I stamped that smooth colored side over the black stamped image.

And voila! You have a colorful image that was so super easy to create!

I paired Catherine Pooler's Turn Up The Beats stamps with the sentiments from Whipped This Up stamp set from the kitchen collection. An unlikely pairing, but it works!

Shhh! Don't tell him, but I got him a new vinyl record for his collection! That record shop girl may be a little older, but she still loves music!

Making cool music together for 32 years! What a blessing!
