Prepping For Stamp Camp

Good morning, café friends!

I haven't been showing a lot of card creations this week. There's a good reason for that, too. I have been prepping for a one-day stamp camp that my sweet Mom and I will be attending next Saturday!

One of our stamp friends is hosting it at a community center. 9am-9pm. Yep! A card making marathon! I thought it would be a good idea to get Mom out of the house and socializing with her sweet church friends. In the winter, we all need things to look forward to on our calendar that will get us over the cabin fever. It will be nice to catch up with all the ladies, as Mom and I did not attend camp last fall.

I want to pack very efficiently! I'm only bringing the essentials, and trying to keep it all to one handy box. I am once again relying on some Simple Stories kits to make this happen!

I have cut apart papers and mats and gathered some extra elements.

For this Lemon Twist kit, I noticed it had a lot of honey bees, so I pulled out the honey bee dies and embossing folders from Momenta and cut out some extra elements to use on cards.

Voila! Easy peasy!

I pre-cut and scored about 100 card bases in pretty spring colors to match the kits.

One kit is spring and Easter-themed.

One kit is birthday-themed.

This kit is spring/generic-themed. I didn't have a lot of added embellishments for this one, so I cut a few using dies from my stash and matching them to the paper's themes.

Flowers, birds, bicycles, wreaths, and butterflies.

I am also cutting out some die-cut words that will be easy to add to a card front. I figure if I do all of this prep work at home, then I won't have to bring my heavy Big Shot and dies.

I plan on bringing a few sentiment sets and a black ink pad for easy stamping.

I also cut out a variety of mats in neutral colors and various shapes...circles, ovals, squares, rectangles, word banners, etc. This way, we can easily stamp a sentiment on them and layer them to the top of a card front.

I am looking forward to this time of creativity with Mom and friends!

Do you have anything fun you are looking forward to in the days ahead?

Blessings on your weekend, café friends!

  1. You have stamp camp prep down to a science, wow! Your mom will enjoy this time so much, I just know it. Those Simple Stories kits look beautiful, too.
There's a lot to look forward to here - I'm visiting my oldest daughter at school next week; my youngest is in a Fine Arts competition through the church and I'll get to see her dance, act, and sing; we're celebrating my mom's birthday tomorrow; I'm participating in an online stamp camp that goes for 4 days. Oh, and there's the Winter Olympics, too! Wow, that just lifted my spirits to type that out. See, Mary Rose, you really know how to spread joy!
