Remembering

This weekend, our church hosted its second annual Memorial Event. Last year, we decided to offer this when the city canceled the parade due to COVID concerns. It was so well received that we decided to do it again.

We had guest speakers and musicians, flag ceremonies and of course, food! Hot dogs, burgers, coleslaw, baked beans, cookies and ice cream, lemonade. It was all free and open to the public, and we probably served close to 200 people. It was a beautiful day and a lovely celebration.

It's good to pause and remember those who died so that we could be free.
