Our sweet friends, Nikki and Bill, sent this gorgeous card to Sam this week! Would you look at all that sparkly goodness?!
Nikki, I came SO close to ordering this kit from Taylored Expressions for the sole purpose of making a grad card for Sam! LOL! I ended up getting the Catherine Pooler moon set instead because a.) I was at Paper and I for the shop hop and b.) it was there to take home, so I did!
I do LOVE the elements of this TE kit, though.
I woke up at 1 a.m. last night and could not go back to sleep. My mind started thinking of all the things I have not done for Sam's party next week. Ugh.
I started searching Pinterest for Grad party ideas, and that's not a good idea because you start to see how much other families spend, and how clever they are with décor and party games and food buffets.
You cannot predict how many people will show up, so you have no idea how much food to prepare. I probably will not have enough tables and chairs. I will have to spend all week mulching my garden and cleaning my house, and then shopping.
I am so tired. But that's probably because I didn't go back to sleep until 4 am.
Here's my food plan so far:
Buffet set up in garage, with food table, dessert table, and coolers of soda, lemonade and bottled water.
Thinking of ordering Olive Garden Build Your Own Pasta bars, with their salad and breadsticks. Also serving lasagnas from Sam's Club. Mini cheesecakes and cookies for dessert (Sam's). If that runs out during the open house, then my backup plan is to have hot dogs, hamburgers and buns at the ready, just to throw on the grill for a quickie meal.
Oh, and did I mention I have a Fellowship event at church this weekend? And four articles that need to be finished and submitted?
Seriously, I will need a vacation at the end of this month!
It will all get gone. For now, I need to finish this latte and get started with my Saturday errands.
Blessings, café friends!
I'm impressed you are planning and hosting the party yourself! Around here, everyone rents a place or shelter in a park and has it fully catered. You are so good at hospitality (judging from your posts) that everyone will have a great time, I'm sure! My daughter has been going to a TON of grad parties and told me that because of hopping from one to another, it's really only the adults that eat, not the kids, if that makes you feel better!
ReplyDeleteSmart parents would've done this weeks ago! By the time we got around to it, all the food trucks and bakeries were booked. My son said the same thing about friends and food. He told me the important thing was drinks and yard games! LOL
