Pictured Rocks and Pink Mugs

Last week, we took a four-day trip to the Upper Peninsula. It was Sam's first time crossing the Mackinac Bridge! Confession: that bridge used to terrify me! I hated crossing it! Lake Michigan on one side, Lake Huron on the other, terror in the car. But thanks to living in Pittsburgh for two years, I have been cured of my phobia of bridges. (You can't get to many places in da Burgh without crossing a bridge at some point!).

Sam had never been to Pictured Rocks, so we knew that a hike through the forest was on our agenda.

It is a beautiful spot! And look at all the colors of blue and green in Lake Superior! Stunning!

The local gift shop in Munising was really awesome. I wanted one of everything! I convinced Ed to get himself a new T shirt, Sam got a new jacket and some stickers, and I resisted the urge to buy these coffee mugs. My coffee cupboard is a joke. I cannot fit one more in that space! But I did really love that pink mug.

Instead of buying it, I took a photo of it. Good enough.

I came home and made a pink mug instead.

I'm sending this card to a forum friend who is feeling under the weather.

Speaking of feeling poorly, I have to bring poor Jemma to the vet this morning. She started limping last night, and she looks so sad. Hoping we can get her healed and back to her happy self in no time.

Time to rise and shine!

  1. Great idea! Photograph it instead of buy it, then use it for inspiration to make a card. Win-win.
