When struggling for a good background for a card base for guys, you can't go wrong by grabbing a nice plaid paper and starting from there.
This pack of Woodsy papers from Catherine Pooler was my starting point. I used the colors listed as my go to's.
I paired it all with the cute images from Woodland Wonders.
I think this card would be perfect for any nature-lover!
And speaking of plaid, you will see plenty of tartans at the Celtic Festival!
Here are some of the highlights from this weekend!
The pipers!
Millpond Millie!
The haggis hurl, the caber toss, and more!
The demonstrations in the textiles tent!
The Clan tents!
The wonderful music!
The sheep herding border collies, the jousting knights. And let's not forget the unicorns!
A fun day!

Tatting! I have (or had) the shuttle and thread but never learned how to use it. The festival looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteI have some vintage tatting supplies from one of my German tantes (great aunt!). The lady at the festival said you can buy books at Hobby Lobby that will teach you the technique.
DeleteIs there a strong Scottish presence in Michigan? I never knew! After reading the Outlander novels, I will forever be in love with Scottish culture and history. And Jamie Fraser lol.
ReplyDeleteOur town has a partnership with the sister city of Brecon, Wales. They've hosted this event for 25 years! I read the Outlander books way way back in the day. And yes, they had a Clan Fraser tent with a full size cutout of Jamie Fraser at the entrance! LOL
