Last night was our last night together before we send Sam off to college. I decided to fix one of Sam's favorite meals: chicken parmesan!
It just so happened that I had everything to fix the meal, with the exception of bread sticks. And this boy loves his bread sticks.
I would have gone to the store to pick some up, but guess what? In the midst of this crazy chaotic week, my husband managed to contract COVID from his parents during their move in to assisted living. Ugh. It's a mild case, but we are taking precautions.
So we are trying to quarantine this week as best we can, keeping our social distance.
I decided to make some homemade bread sticks instead, using some pandemic yeast I had in the pantry.
I recently acquired this Danish dough whisk from my sister, Tina's craft room. It looked intriguing, so I brought it home. And I am happy to report that it works great!
The homemade bread sticks were yummy, especially after we dipped them in shallow dishes of olive oil, herbs, and freshly grated parmesan. What's not to love?
Sam and I will be heading off to campus this afternoon (fully masked, hauling more stuff than I wanted to haul by myself without my husband helping, that's for sure!). Wish me luck!
Good luck lol! That Danish whisk is intriguing. What does it do? I make dough for pizza, hamburger buns, and crusty bread. Your breadsticks looks delicious, especially with the dipping bowls. You may see Sam more than you think lol. My husband left early this morning with our middle daughter to return to school (16 hours away). She's the one I "connect" with most easily and I miss her already. Oh, did your husband and Sam go to Saturday's Pirates game against the Red Sox? If so, what did they think of the Skyblast show? We thought it was the best fireworks we'd ever seen!
