Using Those Scraps of Patterned Paper

Sometimes, I will end up with scraps of patterned paper laying about at my craft table, and I will think "Hmm, surely I can use these for something."

I typically store my 6 by 6 patterned paper packs in extra large Avery Elle storage pockets. It's a great way to keep those little strips organized, too.

I decided to use a few strips to make some fishtail banners. They added just enough color and pattern to this card base.

Now that Sam is officially moved in to his dorm and ready to begin college life, I can spend some time in my craft room...just decompressing! I have a project I am working on for our ministry fair at church, and I have some fall projects I'd like to get started on.

Have you begun working in Christmas cards? I have a few ideas floating around in my head, but nothing concrete yet.

My brain needs a creative retreat!

Happy Friday, café friends!

  1. Great use for scraps! I need to cut some fishtail banners to have on hand. Thanks for the idea!

  2. Yes, but only because I took a stamp camp intensive this past Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (it was SO FUN). The packaging and cards and tags we made were over-the-top stunning, but now I won't make any Christmas cards until late November. I like to keep Christmas confined to Christmas....makes it holier and more sacred for me.

    1. I think that's why I postpone the holiday card making, too. I like to feel like I'm a part of that season. Don't want to rush it!
