Last night, our church hosted a Marty Party (a.k.a. Martin Luther) to celebrate the Reformation. We had a great turnout, and the food was fabulous! For starters, we had a Diet of Worms ! (Funny Lutheran insider joke! 😀 )
Brats and homemade pretzels and the best homemade German potato salad!
I forgot to get a photo, but I made a really delicious apfelkuchen. That's apple cake, for all of the non-Deutsch speaking folks.
I found the recipe from Pinterest, but you can see it here:
Pastor gave us a brief history of the Reformation, with some film clips from the movie "Luther" thrown in, too.
He also showed this very funny clip from Youtube where children explain Martin Luther and the Reformation while the adults act it out. It was hysterical! We laughed so hard!

I am glad that our church makes fellowship a priority, and midweek is always a good time to check in with each other as we celebrate life together.
Your church sounds delightful! The fellowship is wonderful. Our church has begun fellowshipping more and I'm so thankful. We had a cookout last month and next week is chili.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, Nicole! Hope it continues!
