We were walking Jemma the other night when we heard a screech owl from the woods. It wasn't your typical "Whooo! Whooo!" that you normally associate with owls (although we do hear those on occasion, too). This was more of a high pitch trilling sound.
Isn't it crazy how it's dark now at 7PM? It seems like just yesterday when we'd be walking Jemma past 9PM and there was still light on the horizon.
This owl from the Catherine Pooler set "Wiser" is so cute. I love that sentiment for a birthday card, too!
I paired the owl with wood slice dies from the Greetery for a woodsy, masculine card.
I added a little white gel pen to the leaves, and highlighted the red berries with Stickles.
It's a drizzly, gray day today. I think I will stay inside with a good book, a latte, and a craft room to keep me occupied.
Blessings, café friends!
EDITED: Just wanted to add that the Wood Slice dies are on sale (15% off) this week as part of the Card of the Week special at the Greetery!
Love the combination of the wood slice and owl! Your pattern paper and the sentiment complete the card well.
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I LOVE that owl. He appears to be staring right at me lol. Love your gel pen and Stickles details, too. Those are the things I enjoy studying in people's cards.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking of designing a card with a white owl on it for Christmas! Your card is beautiful and the scale and color are just perfect. I might need to CASE this one sometime soon...
