Three Weeks

I don't mean to frighten you, but...

...only THREE WEEKS UNTIL THANKSGIVING!

Seriously?!

The calendar turns to November, and the holidays come rushing full steam ahead.

Have you started thinking about the holidays? Christmas shopping? Making holiday cards? Home décor?

I am giving serious thought to shaking up the traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year. Last year? Way too complicated and too much time slaving in the kitchen.

New strategy this year: Sheet Pan Dinner!

(from Pinterest)

Homemade pies? Nah. Thinking of getting pie from Sam's Club!

Fancy homemade rolls and sides?

Pillsbury crescent rolls and plain old French's Green Bean Casserole.

I've even begun to do some pantry shopping and prep. You never know what will happen with the supply chain. It's good to be prepared.

Today's card features this sweet freebie stamp I got from Catherine Pooler at the end of August. Finally got a chance to play with it! I stamped it on watercolor paper, painted with inks and Tombow clear markers.

Did you hear? The new holiday drinks are back at Starbucks today! Not sure if the free holiday cups are being given out yet, but I know it's coming soon.

Enjoy your day, café friends!

  1. I love the beautiful, rich colors of your card and the sequins! The sheet pan Thanksgiving is a brilliant idea. I actually have on hand everything in the photo but the turkey to make this tonight! But I promised my husband hamburgers (we've had several nights in a row of meatless meals with "weeds" as Brian calls them lol). Our friends have a catering business and last year we ordered their Thanksgiving meal. It was SO good that we're getting it again this year. We run our town's Turkey Trot that morning and my brother and his family stay for several days, so being able to just put pans in a 350 degree oven (that's seriously all I have to do) gives me the entire day to play games and goof off with family. Now Christmas I have given no thought to - I like to keep each holiday in its own time frame!

  2. Great idea to streamline Thanksgiving dinner. We've been eating Costco pies at holiday meals for quite a few years. Delicious!
