A Train for Christmas

 

My husband's uncle loves trains. He has traveled all over the US and Europe by rail. When my boys were young, he would even send us beautiful Lionel trains that we would put around the tree.

I wanted to make him a train card for Christmas, so I incorporated a few elements.

I used the Penny Black train die and paired it with this Penny Black sentiment and die set. I gently curved the stamp on the block before stamping to give it the rounded effect you see here. I used Lawn Fawn treescape die to create the "mountains", popping each layer with foam tape. The Catherine Pooler slimline die creates the snowy sky.

And inside, I used the negative from the die cut to create a blended effect.

I think this one turned out exactly as I'd hoped. I may have to make more of this design next year!
