I was working on this Stitch Card pattern from Lori Holt the other day, and when I set it down on this pile of cookbooks, I had to laugh.
Huh. It looks like Lori Holt's Happy Colors are the same as The Pioneer Woman's happy colors!
These colors make me happy, too. I guess that's why they pop up in my home décor. Red, aqua, sunny yellow. The colors of vintage Pyrex and country kitchens.
My boys gave me these cookbooks for Christmas. Even if you don't make all the recipes, they are fun to read, too. Ree Drummond is a hoot.
I picked up a few more at Books A Million last week from the clearance section.
And this is one of the next cookbooks I plan on checking out:
If you've ever seen this gal on the Magnolia Network channel, she's just adorable. Her show is called Girl Meets Farm. I love her sweet kitchen!
It's winter in the Midwest, which means we turn to our comfort foods...soup, mac and cheese, warm bread. Mmm.
Time to brew a latte and do some cookbook reading!
I LOVE Ree Drummond's cookbooks. I don't own any but my library has them all (however, it's a challenge to not get splatters and the like on them when actually using them to cook so I should probably just get my own copies).
ReplyDeleteIn the Jan/Feb 2023 issue of Food Network magazine, there is an article about Molly Yeh's new restaurant Bernie's in Minnesota with a recipe for her briny bean dip. I made it and WOW! SO GOOD! So I imagine her cookbook would be good, too!
I was checking them out of my library so often, I thought it was time to finally buy them! LOL Going to look up that bean dip, Nicole!
DeleteWinter is the time for all things cozy and comforting--food, drink, and afghans.
ReplyDeleteYes to all of the above! And falling asleep early on the couch!
