Life Is Sweet

A few years ago, my sister, Tina visited the nearby town of Milan and popped in to the Life is Sweet Bakery and Café.

"You have to go!" she told me. "It was one of the best lattes I've ever had!"

She told me about all of the cute shops in the small downtown, like the quilt shop, the yarn shop, the home interior shop.

We would often drive through the downtown, and I would think "I have to stop here one day!"

Yesterday was Tina's birthday. In honor of her, my mom and sisters and I finally made it to the café and shops, sharing lattes and pastries, memories and laughs.

Tina was right. The latte was amazing! And the pastries? Ooh la la!

The place looks like something from a Hallmark movie set. So cute!

I have so much work piled up for the rest of the month. This was just the break my weary soul needed.

I can't wait to stop back when the weather is warmer and I can sip a latte here on the patio.

Blessings on your week, café friends!

  2. With so many downtown areas in decline, it's heartwarming to see one that has charm and character. What a lovely outing and a great way to celebrate your sister's memory. ❤️

  3. I love your memory trip photos and script. This week I made a short day trip to our former town. I stopped and took photos of my husband's childhood home, his office, our first apartment, his parent's retirement home, and the school where I worked as librarian for 20 years. Inner peace and happiness all week. Vikki H
