Catalog Knockoff: Lovely in Linen

It's been a while since I've been in my craft room. I finally got a chance to play yesterday! And have you ever noticed that if you get away from crafting for too long, it can be hard to get the creativity flowing?

I brought my SU catalogs down to the stamp room for a little direction.

The current catalog has a collection called Lovely in Linen that I really like. The colors, the patterns, the flowers...they all have a vintage quality. Pretty!

I got to thinking...what do I have that can recreate this look?

For starters, I grabbed Needle and Thread from SU, mostly because I like the sentiments and the fonts in this set.

Next, I grabbed two Papertrey Ink stamp sets that also have the vintage look: Quilted Spring and Quilted Summer. I found this paper pack from PTI called Nostalgic Notions that looked a LOT like the papers from the SU collection.

These cards look really fancy with little effort. It's mostly the pretty patterned paper that steals the show! Just a little stamping, a sentiment, an embellishment, and done!

I have a few more ideas for catalog knockoffs that I am working on this week, and a stack of cards that need to be mailed. But first, the sun is shining and the outdoors is calling. I must go walk! Enjoy your day!

  1. It's always fun for me when you use what you've got to create a look that originated with some other products that you don't have. It seems that themes recur every so many years. A good reason to hang on to products we love. They'll come back in style sooner or later.

It's so fun (and creative, too) to recreate something with what you have on hand. Geeky moment here.....being resourceful gives me a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. In every area of life. Last week I made a frittata with leftover Easter ham and roasted broccoli and was quite excited about it lol. Your cards are so fresh and bright! I love the patterns and colors of them!
