A Paper Pumpkin Father's Day

How do you feel about kits? Do you like them? Sometimes, I can talk myself out of kits (don't need all the elements), and other times I think they seem useful.

For a few years, Stampin' Up has been offering monthly Paper Pumpkin kits. I think these would be great if you were a new stamper just getting into the craft. They come with everything you need for the projects...but more than a seasoned crafter would probably need.

Someone on a buy/sell forum was selling this Here's To You kit, and I thought it looked pretty useful. A good price, too.

It came with stamps and stencils...

...envelopes and liners...

...card bases, card fronts and paper accent elements.

I used these elements to make a card for my father-in-law for Father's Day.

I made a "window" card by cutting a square frame out of the front of a kraft card base. I adhered the tree line to the front of the window, and put the mountain panel on the inside.

I used some stamps from PTI to add the sentiments.

This was a good, masculine card that was fun to make. I may craft a few more to have on hand. And when the card base panels are gone, there's always the stencils to make your own scene, and stamps to create dimension.

Happy Monday, café friends!

  1. That's a great idea to put a window in the card front. I never think to do that. 😏
