Welcome to July!
Here's a card that reminds me of summers Up North.
Catherine Pooler has a new collection called Summer at the Shore. Hmm. Wait a sec. Don't I already have a sailboat in a Catherine Pooler stamp set? I do! It's from the Canvo stamp set called Set Sail. I pulled it out to make this one.
And here's what I used to make the background:
To create the waves, I used a CP stencil called Bear Grass, did a little ink blending, and spritzed it all with this new shimmer spray I picked up last weekend.
It gives a nice sparkle!
I added a little extra sparkle with some sequins.
That sun looks a little like the smoky, hazy sunsets we've been experiencing this week due to the forest fires in Canada. So strange! Our air quality in Detroit metro area is being reported as the worst right now. I'm keeping windows closed and only doing outside tasks for short spurts of time.
It's a strange summer for our family. But more on that later. I hope your pre-holiday weekend is filled with blessings.
Your card is a cheerful, summery one! I feel bad for all the people suffering with the smoke trail from the Canadian fires. Wildfires are nothing new to us in southern California, but we've never experienced such a massive amount of smoke over such a huge area!
