Good morning, café friends!
My 2024 motto is Year of Plenty, a reminder to myself that I have an abundance of good things and plenty of stuff that needs to be used.
Today's card uses three "new" items from my craft room that were waiting to be used. Wait no more. Today is that day!
I began by making snow. Lots and lots of snow.
Besides a very early snowfall in November, we've had a very grey and brown winter. I miss the snow!
I had this snowfall background stamp from Hello Bluebird that needed to be used. And as long as I was heat embossing one sheet of card stock, I thought I'd make multiples to have on hand.
I finally inked up this Feed the Birds stamp set from Hello Bluebird! SO sweet! I inked up two sheets worth of images and spent a quiet evening with my COPICS having some coloring fun.
This card also uses a new deckle die set that my sweet husband got me for Christmas. Here's the thing. I'd been waiting for-EVER for HB to restock their deckle die frames, but it hasn't happened. So I went looking for deckle dies and found a set from Waffleflower and put it on my holiday wish list.
Of course, AFTER I got this set, I discovered that Stampin' Up also had a deckle die set...a really nice set with, like, six different nesting sizes. wah! I like it better. Oh well. For now, I'm going to "use what I've got". I may swap them out in the future.
EDIT: I checked this morning, and the A2 deckle dies are back in stock at Hello Bluebird! I feel my resolve crumbling! LOL
As a side note, I have a winter parka from Land's End that is very similar to the color of this girl's coat. I wore it the other day, and the librarian commented on what a nice color it was for winter. We agreed that when winter is grey and gloomy, happy colors are needed.
Hope your day is filled with happy!
