The Last Page

One of my goals for 2024 is to read more books. I'm off to a good start this year! Three books for January thus far.

I was anxious to read this book, as it is the final story in a Jane Austen-inspired mystery series by Stephanie Barron. Fifteen books over a fifteen year period, and I have enjoyed them all. The author made Jane the heroine and detective in this series, interspersing true life facts about Jane's life in the story line.

But alas, as Jane ages throughout the series, she does come to her untimely demise at the young age of 41. Many scholars believe that Jane died of Addison's disease, while others speculate that she may have succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

I continue to read (and re-read) Austen's works, and I enjoy many of the films as well. The recent PBS three season series "Sanditon" was great, too. I also like to read a lot of spinoff fan fiction.

Next up...The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow.

And did I show you this sweet bookmark? I purchased it from Chapters Tea and Coffee!

This one matches their tea called "Picnic at Pemberly".

January is a good month to get cozy, drink tea and read good books.
