Autumn in the Garden

A lot of gardeners find autumn to be a sad time because the growing season is winding down.

I'm not one of those gardeners.

In fact, I love this time of year when the colors of the blossoms start to mellow and the leaves take center stage. There is always something interesting happening in the garden, and autumn is no exception.

This weed that grows along the side of my house? Virginia Creeper. And that crazy Pokeweed with the purple berries? I should eliminate it from the garden, right? But look at those colors! I never have the heart to yank it out until it's done putting on a show.

I feel as if Jemma and I are both entering the Autumn years of life. We're slowing down. We're mellowing. We're finding beauty in sunny days and naps and quiet strolls through the leaves.

This sums it up nicely!

Autumn is a good place to be.
