Self-Care Day

We hear a lot about self-care these days. I think that means different things to different people. I am not a person that is big into "self". I don't like "spa days". I'm not a mani-pedi kind of person. I don't obsess about doctor's appointments and treatments. And I don't feel the need to indulge my every whim or mood.

For me, self-care should be a form of "maintenance" that we work on so that we can get out of the self and continue to serve others.

Sunday worship. Bible study. Dulcimer lessons. Card making. Card sending. These are my preferred forms of self-care.

I'm heading out of town to visit with my Indiana family this weekend, and I really needed a haircut. I think the last one was six or eight months ago, and I've been cutting it myself since then.

For me, getting a cut means I can spend a little time in the town of Milan and visit Life is Sweet Bakery and Café, too. Win win!

It was a good day!

Blessings on your weekend, café friends!
