Do you have a favorite cake?

I've always been fond of German chocolate cake. My husband loves a lemon or yellow cake with chocolate frosting. And my son, John, has always liked white cake with white frosting.

I'd say my least favorite cake is red velvet. I've never been a fan of anything that tastes "red". It always reminds me of medicine. Now that red food coloring is going to be banned in the US (good riddance), I wonder what will be used as a substitute. Cherry syrup?

I needed a cake-inspired card for a pen pal card swap. Catherine Pooler's Doxie Birthday Party was perfect!

I pulled out some papers that would go well with a chocolate cake. I used them for my color inspiration, too. All products here are from Catherine Pooler, with the exception of some old Amuse studio ribbon.

Mmm. Cake. Now I'm going to be hungry for it all day!
