My husband says that I am sensitive to smells. Maybe. Or it could be that is the excuse I use for not frying bacon in the house.
Last year, I found the perfect soy candle, and it smelled so good! It reminded me of the spiciness of Constant Comment tea from Bigelow. Creamy, spicy, soothing.
I tried to find that same candle again this year, but Tuscany was no longer selling Sleigh Ride Cider this holiday. Sad!
Then I read the fragrance description on this photo I had saved from my favorite candle.
Citrus. Cinnamon. Clove.
It got me thinking. Can't I replicate that fragrance?
And then I remembered my essential oil diffuser that had gotten shoved into a cupboard. I checked my oils, and lo and behold, I had them...and they still smell great!
I think another benefit of the diffuser is that it adds a little humidity to the space during winter's dry season.
I never did find a perfect candle this holiday. I bought quite a few but ended up giving them as gifts. I still have plenty from autumn that I'm burning when I need a little glow. For now, my house is smelling like a good cup of tea.
Time to put the kettle on!
