How long should rugs last? Apparently, in our house, the answer is eight years.
We had to replace the rugs on the deck this spring, after a lot of outdoor use and abuse.
I decided to take the indoor area rugs out to the driveway and give them a good scrubbing with the carpet cleaner.
But when I brought them back inside, I could see that most of them were really worn and faded. The large rug by the front door was probably the best. But the back door and kitchen sink rugs...sad.
Well, rugs are pricey, and I'm picky.
I bought these rugs from Walmart after our move here 8 years ago. They were Mohawk brand, and I liked the colors.
I took a chance and looked at Walmart again. And that's where I found the perfect rugs!
The colors were lovely...taupes, rusty reds, pale blues.
They look great with my Ballard curtains.
And best of all...they're Jemma-colored!
And did I mention they are machine washable?
These were such a great deal. The large 5 by 7 was less than $50. I got 5 area rugs for around $100.
I'm going to repurpose some of the old rugs in the basement.
They add such a nice, calming autumnal feel to the house. And Jemma has found them to be super comfortable for naps.
