Did you know that April 6th is Tartan Day? Yep. A day set aside to celebrate Scottish heritage in North America. This awesome mug sports my Thomson family tartan. I don't own it...but I think I need it. ha ha ha! I do own an LL Bean flannel shirt in my family tartan, and I may just have to wear it tomorrow.
Here's a card I made featuring a fun plaid background. I used the plaid background stamps from Concord and 9th to add a little "flannel" to this masculine card.
As you can see, I fussy cut the tree ring and the feathers with a nice pair of paper snips that are ancient and from Stampin' Up. Seriously, I have to remind myself that I don't need to own every die set if I can easily cut it myself. More money saved for stamps. ;)
{Today's Brew: Plaid Background (Concord and 9th), sentiment and feathers (Concord and 9th), Tree Ring (Concord and 9th), PTI ink and card stock, button twine}
And because I was on a roll, I made another similar card. This time, I used the Barnwood Background stamp from Concord and 9th, and I added a little maize and blue in a nod to Michigan. Go blue!
It's nice to have some more masculine cards in my stash.
Thanks for visiting the cafe today! Blessings on your Friday!
YES, I did know that tomorrow is Tartan Day ! It's on my calendar! And I love your plaid creation!
ReplyDeleteAw, love the plaid, tree ring and the two cards output. I also imagine cutting out a stamp before buying the die. The Cn9 tree ring works well for guys and boy, do I need those at times with 2 sons, 3 grands and brothers.
