Bringing Out The Autumn
Autumn decor has been popping up in the house since Labor Day weekend. It started with the sunflowers at the front entrance, and that led to a few pumpkins in the family room, and that led to the seasonal candles. A little bit at a time.
I don't think I ever showed this finished pillow project. It's tucked away in the corner chair. I'm hoping Jemma doesn't find it, as she often thinks that small pillows are meant to be stuffed chew toys.
Speaking of Jemma...
...silly girl! She loves getting up on my lap...all 80 pounds of her!
My sweet mother-in-law, Shirley Ann, gave me four of these spicy colored Longaberger mugs recently. Aren't they perfect for this time of year? Whenever I make myself a Pumpkin Spice Latte, I grab one of these mugs.
Three things about this room that still make me so happy:
1.) The Buffalo check curtains from Ballard Designs. They work in every season.
2.) The soothing blue wall color. This, too, works in every season. It creates such a peaceful backdrop for the changing elements in the room.
3.) The skylights. I can never say enough good things about the skylights! Best investment we have made in the house thus far!
All of the natural sunlight that pours down during the day. I often think to myself "How could the previous owners live without that light for all of those years?" I guess some people like darker spaces.
I haven't purchased any pumpkins or mums for the garden yet. For now, I'm just enjoying a little bit of autumn indoors.
Blessings on your Monday, cafe friends!
