Two Ways To Use PTI's Winter Floral Cover Plate
Do you own any of Papertrey Ink's Cover Plate dies? I have to tell you, they are some of the cheapest in the crafting industry, easily half the price of some other very big name companies. And they really do add a lot to card fronts, too.
When the Winter Floral cover plate die came back in stock, I made sure to grab one.
I played with it recently, and here's what I found.
If you pass it through once, you will get a deeply embossed but not fully cut cover.
I decided to leave it and play with some Distress Oxides on this card.
I didn't do the most stellar job of blending here, but I still like it. After spritzing with some white, I think it looks a bit like a holiday-colored aurora borealis.
Now, if you want the cover plate to cut completely, it will take a little extra work. You will likely need a plate adapter, and maybe some shims, and after you have run it through your machine a few times, you will probably need a Spellbinders pokey tool to get all those pieces out.
And yes, I'm still sending out a few extra Christmas cards! I have a few letters to write as well...if I can only find the time!
I am using all 12 of those days of Christmas!
