Back to School
I discovered something really awesome last fall. Hillsdale College offers free online classes on a wide variety of subjects! History, Literature, Government, Philosphy, Religion, Politics and more.
I found a class on the young Jane Austen, featuring her novel Northanger Abbey. I have read a lot of Austen, but this book was one that I had missed. And as luck would have it, I had recently bought a copy from our library's used book sale. woo hoo!
The class is taught through video sessions with professor Lorraine Murphy. It includes reading assignments and quizzes to test your comprehension, too.
I really enjoyed the class, and plan on enrolling in another course soon.
Maybe "learning something new" or "reading more books" made it on to your New Year's resolution list. If so, this might be just the way to start some new creative thinking for 2020.

Did you make any resolutions this year? I think this is my year that I resolve NOT to resolve. Not lists. No special words to meditate on. No fitness or weight loss goals. It's a new decade. I have enough TO DO lists without adding to them! And in truth, I just wasn't inspired to come up with any grand plan for 2020. But if you have a plan, I'd love to hear it!
Blessings, cafe friends!
