COVID-19 Plan: Get Crafty!

In the long process of moving our loved one into assisted living, we had to clean and empty an apartment and move all the goods into storage until COVID regulations are lifted. At some point, we will bring some things into her new room, and then have an estate sale for the rest.

These kitchen counter stools were at the apartment, and I thought they just might work at our island, so I brought them home.

The cushions were black faded floral, which really didn't match anything. So yesterday, I decided to recover them! I cut off the old fabric and pulled out the padded insert.

I used the insert as a pattern and cut out two pieces of fabric for the front and back.

Next, I cut some strips of fabric to use as the ties, and sewed them down.

You can see them here.

I decided to make the cushions reversible! I had the fabric from IKEA, and using what I have is always a good idea!

And voila! New cushions!

They match the fabric that I used to reupholster the dining room chairs.

This was a fun, fast project to fill time and make me feel productive during quarantine. It gives me a sense of accomplishment to make a list in the morning and get jobs crossed off.

Thanks for visiting the cafe today!
