Up North: M-119, Michigan's Tunnel of Trees, and Leg's Inn

Michigan's famous M-119 is the interstate that runs along Lake Michigan and drives through the iconic Tunnel of Trees. It is beautiful at all times of the year, but I can only imagine how awesome it must be in the fall!

Along the way, in what seems like the middle of nowhere, is the famous Leg's Inn. This restaurant is only open from May to October, and it serves traditional Polish dishes along with American fare. So good!

You can grab a drink, go outdoors and find a picnic table or Adirondack chair and enjoy this view!

The gardens are spectacular!

Isn't it wonderful that we can enjoy good food and drink while sitting on a patio and enjoying summer weather?

The interior looked fun, too!

Vacation tip: Restaurants

When it came to dining, we ate all of our meals outdoors. Our servers all wore masks, we used hand sanitizers, there was plenty of room between tables. Over all, we felt completely safe.

That's one of the wonderful things about nice weather season. You can enjoy the outdoors as much as possible! I will miss that when the cold weather returns. Let's hope and pray that things with the pandemic are better by then.

In the meantime, we try to eat outdoors whenever possible!

Here's a card that's the epitome of outdoor dining: picnic!

I made this card for a Stampin' Up demo friend who is retiring from teaching. The sentiment stamp says "Every day with you is a picnic", but I decided that a better sentiment for a retirement card would say "Every day is a picnic." I just did not ink the other portion, and voila!

{Today's Brew: stamps and dies (SU), MFT banner die for sentiment, PTI edgers die for table cloth, PTI inks and card stock, MFT stencils, Distress Oxide inks}

Tomorrow's card and destination will be coffee-themed, so stop back! Thanks for visiting the cafe today!

  1. You really know how to pick destinations with charm! I love eating outside, too. We usually have lunch and dinner on our deck in the summer. Right now restaurants can only serve outside, so there are pop up shelters everywhere.
