Petoskey is a lovely town on the shores of Lake Michigan. We had not been back to the town in over twenty years, and wow, has it grown!
We love to watch the sunsets over Lake Michigan! It's a wonderful place where people pause and gather to take in the majesty.
Downtown Petoskey is very charming, with lots of fun shops and restaurants.
It's the kind of town where people gather on the lawn to hear music from the gazebo, maybe with an ice cream from Kilwin's in hand.
We stayed at a Marriot Bonvoy that looked like it was brand new! It had a Starbucks lounge, a restaurant, and a lovely seating area outdoors, perfect for stargazing.
Here's what we did to stay safe in the hotel:
*I brought my own disinfecting wipes, and I wiped down every surface in the hotel that we could possibly touch.
*We never took an elevator with anyone else (which was never a problem, because it was not that busy). All elevators had hand sanitizing stations and gloves available.
*I packed my own coffees, creamers, breakfast foods, snacks, and bottled water. No need to get anything from the lobby.
*The housekeeping never came back to the room until after our stay, which was fine by us. I cleaned myself, and kept things sanitary.
*When we returned home, I used a disinfecting spray for all of our luggage and shoes. I also wiped down our car after the trip.
Just a few precautions when you are in a home away from home.
Some people may be more comfortable in an airbnb or VRBO rental. And that's fine. But my husband had accumulated travel points from work, and free is free. The only thing we paid for on our trip were the two meals a day (and maybe a few coffees and ice creams along the way).
Tomorrow, I will show you our next destination, and tell you our experience with dining. And yes, I have a new card to show you, too!
Looks wonderful! I'm not really afraid of contact in a room as I've heard they have to leave a room empty for a 24 hr period between guests. Good ideas for packing coffee room stuff and cleaning off luggage. Someday we'll make a trip to upper MI!
